Three minute thesis competition hosted by CUJ, founded by university of Queensland, Australia

JAMMU:  Under the dynamic leadership of Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjiv Jain, Central University of Jammu is scaling newer heights for carving a niche at international level – one such initiative is 3MT, Three-Minute Thesis Competition organised by the Department of English, School of Languages.  3MT is a  global level competition which was developed by the University of Queensland, Australia with the objective of providing a platform to young researchers to present to effectively explain research in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience in THREE MINUTES with only one PowerPoint slide.

Young enthusiastic researchers from Central University of Jammu and various other universities, to name a few Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Central University of Kashmir, Aligarh Muslim University and  VFTR Deemed to be University, Hyderabad.  Prof. Devanand Padha, Vice Chancellor In charge presided over the competition.

While speaking on the occasion, the Head, Department of English, Dr. Vandana Sharma and the convener of CUJ 3MT said that CUJ is committed to amplify the research output – whether it is through high quality publication, research projects or chiseling the research acumen of young researchers and replicating 3 MT founded by University of Queensland, Australia is a step in this direction. 

Around twenty five young researchers from different disciplines of Humanities and Social Sciences presented their research in Three minutes who were adjudicated by a panel of judges who were prof. Bhavatosh Guru from Dr. hari Singh Gour University, Madhaya Pradesh; Prof. B S Bhau, Dean Research Studies from CUJ and Dr. Meenu Gupta from Punjab University Chandigarh. The first, second and Third prizes in 3MT were bagged by Ms. Tania Shri, from Department of English, CUJ, Ms. Arti Devi, Department of English and Ms Bazila Ehsan from Department of English, Central University of Kashmir. Prof. Devanand Padha gave away prizes and certificates to winners.
