SRINAGAR: On Shab-e-Qadr, Power Development Department (PDD) was able to supply 1575 MW and 170 LAC units of energy which is the highest load served to Kashmir valley on the occasion of Shab-e-qadr from 1800 hrs of 28th April 2022 to 0600 hrs of 29th April 2022. This is 55 MW more peak achieved and about 7 Lac units of more energy supplied vis-a-vis last year’s Shab-e-Qadr.  During the same time period last year, 1520 MW peak load was served and 163 Lac units of energy supplied.

JAMMU:  In order to meet the increasing electricity demand in Jammu & Kashmir, the Union Government has allocated 207 MW additional Power to the Union Territory. Principal Secretary, to the Lt Governor & PDD, Shri Nitishwar Kumar said that the order issued by the Union Ministry of Power will substantially increase the availability of power in J&K.

The Yatra to Himalayan cave of Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine is scheduled to take place for 43 days, from 30th June to 11th August, 2022.

Commenting on the response, MD & CEO, Baldev Prakash said, “Since Yatra is resuming two years after the advent of Covid19, we expect good spike this year in the number of pilgrims visiting Shri Amarnathji Cave. NEW DELHIThe Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today has approved the investment of Rs.4526.12 crore for 540 Megawatt (MW) Kwar Hydro Electric Project located on river Chenab, in Kishtwar district of Union Territory of Jammy and Kashmir. The project will be implemented by M/s. Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited (M/s. CVPPL) a joint venture company between NHPC and JKSPDC with equity contribution of 51% and 49% respectively on 27.04.2022.

JAMMU: The Forest department today organized one day DFO’s conference to deliberate on deliverables assigned by the government for 2022-23. Inaugurating conference, Commissioner Secretary, Forest, Ecology and Environment, Sanjeev Verma, congratulated the forest and sister departments for planting 137.20 lakh saplings during the last financial year besides plantation of over 95 lakh saplings through low cost interventions like seed balls, patch sowing and grass slips. He highlighted deliverables on restoration of water bodies especially the village ponds, Har Gaon Hariyali through ‘One Beat Guard, One Village Program’ under ‘Green Jammu & Kashmir Drive’.
