Power Development Department taking steps to ensure adequate power supply

SRINAGAR: On Shab-e-Qadr, Power Development Department (PDD) was able to supply 1575 MW and 170 LAC units of energy which is the highest load served to Kashmir valley on the occasion of Shab-e-qadr from 1800 hrs of 28th April 2022 to 0600 hrs of 29th April 2022. This is 55 MW more peak achieved and about 7 Lac units of more energy supplied vis-a-vis last year’s Shab-e-Qadr. During the same time period last year, 1520 MW peak load was served and 163 Lac units of energy supplied.

Chief Wildlife Warden, Suresh Kumar Gupta, informed the Commissioner Secretary that the department has prepared management plan for Gharana Wetland Conservation Reserve for 5 years. NEW DELHI: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today has approved the investment of Rs.4526.12 crore for 540 Megawatt (MW) Kwar Hydro Electric Project located on river Chenab, in Kishtwar district of Union Territory of Jammy and Kashmir. The project will be implemented by M/s. Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited (M/s. CVPPL) a joint venture company between NHPC and JKSPDC with equity contribution of 51% and 49% respectively on 27.04.2022.

JAMMU: A review meeting of Jammu & Kashmir Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (JKIDFC) was today held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, Atal Dulloo here at Civil Secretariat. The meeting was attended by Showkat Hussain Mir, Executive Director, JKIDFC; Shafaat Yehya, General Manager, JKIDFC; Nimisha Abrol, Project Manager, JKIDFC and other officials of the Corporation.

Sanjeev Verma inaugurates DFO’s conference, 20,000 ha to be brought under plantation this year

JAMMU: The Forest department today organized one day DFO’s conference to deliberate on deliverables assigned by the government for 2022-23. Inaugurating conference, Commissioner Secretary, Forest, Ecology and Environment, Sanjeev Verma, congratulated the forest and sister departments for planting 137.20 lakh saplings during the last financial year besides plantation of over 95 lakh saplings through low cost interventions like seed balls, patch sowing and grass slips. He highlighted deliverables on restoration of water bodies especially the village ponds, Har Gaon Hariyali through ‘One Beat Guard, One Village Program’ under ‘Green Jammu & Kashmir Drive’.
