JK Govt earmarks Rs. 8.08 Cr for dwelling units

This colony would be developed on 161 kanals of state land and the dwellers would be provided all the basic facilities.


Jammu and Kashmir government has approved an ambitious project worth Rs. 8.08 crore for the rehabilitation of Dwellers of Chuntikhul being rehabilitated under JNNURM programme at Samerbugh under basic service to urban poor covered under JNNURM.

This colony would be developed on 161 kanals of state land and the dwellers would be provided all the basic facilities.

Rs. 7.08 crores would be spent on the construction of 246 dwelling units at a rate of Rs. 2.88 lakh per unit. Rs. 16. 35 lakh would be spent on development of roads, Rs. 8.40 lakh on surface drains, Rs. 24.45 lakh on construction of community hall, besides Rs. 15.09 lakh for soakage, Rs. 25 lakh for providing water supply to the dwellers and Rs. 10.41 lakh would be spent for the construction of one lavatory block. This project would be started soon as all the modalities in this regard are finalized.
