PDP floated self rule on BJP’s behest : Omar

‘NC led govt. to catapult progress of under developed areas’
Denouncing PDP’s dual trait of using under hand means to relish power and simultaneously shedding crocodile tears for resolution of Jammu and Kashmir centric issues, the Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah Sunday said that PDP flouted the imaginary idea of self rule on behest of BJP to scuttle the National Conference Autonomy resolution adopted by three-fourth majority of the State legislature. 
Mr. Omar was addressing large public gatherings at Dooru and Kokernag in South Kashmir. He said that after National Conference made through endeavors to acquaint the political leaders of the country about the importance and feasibility of Autonomy proposal, considerable pressure was mounted on the then BJP led centre government which was compelled to constitute a committee to discuss the Autonomy proposal. He said under a deal with the PDP the BJP asked Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and his daughter to float imaginary self rule idea so that Autonomy proposal passed by the Jammu & Kashmir assembly was put to back burner. “As faithful friends of L.K Advani and BJP Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Ms. Mehbooba Mufti acted accordingly and befooled the people of Jammu & Kashmir by the imaginary self rule ideal , the contours of which are not even known to the father – daughter duo”, he maintained.
Mr. Omar said that National Conference would continue to advocate its Autonomy resolution at all foras in the country and will play a pragmatic and positive role to help efforts aimed at restoring permanent peace and political tranquility in the state. He said National Conference has vehemently presented their point of view in the working groups regarding permanent settlement of all Jammu & Kashmir centric issues, adding that he has written to Justice Sageer Ahmed heading the working group on state centre relations, to resume the deliberations of the group so that National Conference will carry forward its Autonomy resolution proposal.
Chief Minister told the people that Lok Sabha elections are of greater significant for Jammu and Kashmir and success of coalition candidates all the more important for ensuring return of UPA government headed by liberal, secular able and progressive democrat Dr. Manmohan Singh. He said that UPA government in the past took important steps for restoration of peace in the sub continent and contributed whole heartedly. “The success of coalition candidate will mean return of Dr. Manmohan Singh and God forbid the defeat will strengthen the BJP at the centre as BJP and PDP are two faces of the same coin”. Mr. Abdullah said that his government is committed to ensure equitable development of all areas of the state and hitherto left under developed areas would receive focus of attention for speedy progress. He said most of the areas in southern Kashmir like other parts have remained under developed and his government would take measures to catapult the economic growth of these areas.The gatherings were also addressed by Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz Union Minister for Water Resources, Prithviraj Chavan Union Minister of state in Prime Minister’s Office , Peerzada Mohd Sayeed, Minister for Education, Gh. Ahmed Mir, Dr. Mehboob Beg, Sakina Itoo, Rafiq Khan, Abdul Majid Mir and Gh. Nabi Adgami. Prominent among others who were present included Altaf Kaloo, MLC, G.Q. Tak, Mohd Abdullah Nadam, Gulzar, Nabam Tuki Minister for PWD and PCC Chief Arunachal Pradesh and others.
